New South Brisbane Crime Statistics
New crime data has just been published showing crime stats for South Brisbane suburbs. The data was gathered from the Queensland Police Service’s crime maps revealing that between the 20th April 2015 and the 20th April 2016, over eleven thousand crimes were reported across the Brisbane’s Southern Star suburbs. Leading the 24 suburbs with 1654 reported offences is Upper Mt Gravatt followed by Sunnybank with 1205 criminal acts and Acacia Ridge with 1087.
Police reported that the majority of the crimes committed were theft, drug related and unlawful entry offences.
There has been an increase in “sneak breaks”, especially in the Sunnybank Hills and Runcorn areas. “Sneak breaks usually occur as a result of residential or commercial property owners not securing windows or doors before vacating their home of workplace.
From 20th April 2015 to 20th April 2016, there was 11,608 crimes reported to local police in the 24 South Brisbane suburbs below.
